Water Point Survey

A detailed water point survey has been undertaken. In total 369 water points were inventoried, mostly in the Anosy Region, and a smaller number in the Androy Region, over a period of 4 months. However, during the subsequent analysis of the collected data, numerous water points had to be discarded due to technical reasons. For instance, many boreholes had their pumps completely removed, and the open holes filled with stones or debris, making them impossible to repair. The total number of ‘repairable’ water points identified to date is 286.

The interactive map below shows the locations of all repairable water points.

Details on the water points can be found by clicking through to the source data.

The table below also details the water points identified for repair.
